Solar Wagon

Cautions

The wagon is not for carrying children, animals, or gear. Do not use the wagon to store items of any sort (especially metal items). Metal objects contacting electrical connections could cause shorts or sparks, damage your unit, and injure you. The solar panel is not to be used as a table; it is quartz glass, fragile, and can be broken. It is also expensive to replace. Protect it!

When the unit is parked, the wheels should blocked to prevent the unit from moving or rolling about. The unit is very heavy. The complete wagon weights approximately 400 pounds, yet it is fragile. For safety's sake get help to move your wagon around the area of use. It will require several (4 or more) people to load the wagon on a vehicle for transport, even if you use ramps.

The solar panel should be removed before loading or transporting the unit. A quick disconnect has been included with the solar panel for the ease of removing it from the wagon.

Keep it Clean

Good housekeeping will play a role in the best operation of your Solar Wagon. Clean the solar panel with glass cleaner or just plain water. Do not use abrasives on the solar panel as they will scratch the panel and reduce its effectiveness. Use a soft nonmetallic brush to clean the batteries and wagon.

When not in use, install clear panels (included in your kit) at each end of the inverter. The panels will protect the inverter from moisture and from foreign objects.

Avoid leaving the unit outside during inclement weather.

Batteries

Note: Battery caps are sealed at the factory and never need water added. Do not remove the caps as this will void the warrantee.

Electricity can be Dangerous

This unit is not designed for large resistive loads such as electric stoves, water heaters, large electric lights, air conditioners, or other high-energy consuming equipment. The unit produces 120 volts of alternating current, the type your house uses as well as 12 volts of direct current, the type your automobile uses. Use the same safety rules when running your power tools with this solar unit that you would use if you were using the same tools in your home or shop. Keep children away from the Solar Wagon. It is not a toy. Only those who understand how to operate the unit should do so.

Lower the solar panel to protect the unit when not in use, unless you are charging the batteries. Unit does not need to be in use to charge batteries or charging to be in use. Only the batteries need to be charged.

If for some reason you would need to connect or reconnect the inverter to the batteries, a small arc should be expected. If there is a large arc, smoke, or heating of any part of the unit, remove the cable immediately. If the positive or negative leads or cables come into contact with each other, it is possible that batteries could explode and cause damages and injuries. If there is any doubt as to the correctness of your hookups, seek professional help.

Here's the disclaimer we'd like to see:

Anything you do with your gear is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. This is a stupid idea that will probably ruin your radio, set your house on fire, bring the FCC to your door, ruin your crops, and send famine and pestilence across the land. And as the operator, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to not take the word of some raving lunatic on the web with funny colored hair. Find things out for yourself; I'm probably lying. You have been warned!
